My card for today is from From The Heart Stamps. Ice Cream Lineup June stamp of the month.  I chose to make an easel card, using the Square bracket card flip card creations die from Kaisercraft  I cut the center image with the bracket die, colored it with my copic markers and added seed beads to the top of the ice cream. The other ice cream images were fussy cut and colored with copic markers.  The back ground papers are from Strawberry and Chocolate digital papers. I die cut the sentiment with the bracket die and popped it up with pop dots.

From The Heart Sketch Challenge#155

Today is red rose day.  Nothing says love like giving someone a red rose. The rose is America's favorite flower.  The rose has many colors and each color has a different meaning.  If you plan on giving someone roses you should find out what the color means. My favorite is yellow.  It's meaning is joy, gladness, friendship, delight, freedom, the promise of a new beginning. Everyone could use a yellow rose to brighten their day!

Today I am sending prayers to those in Orlando that were killed in the night club shooting. God be with their family and friends as they grieve for the lose of their loved ones.

For my card today I used the Bee Happy Bird Brain image from From The Heart Stamps  I colored it with copics and gel pens. I added a bit of sparkle with a clear sparkle overlay marker to the center of the flowers and the bee's wings.  I used the octagon embossing folder from Stampin Up! and a bee and flower pp from my computer.  The bee stickers I found in my stash. I popped them up with pop dots.

From The Heart Sketch Challenge#154

Hello! Today is Sausage Roll Day.  I have never eaten one, but they sure look good!

The pastry part looks yummy. Add a little hot mustard and you have a treat. Sausage Roll Day

Sketch154For my entry to From The Heart Sketch Challenge #154 I used Inner Tube Bird Brain. I envey him relaxing in his inner tube sipping on a cool cocktail. It reminds me when we went on a cruise to Cancun and Jamaica. What fun that was! I would never go on a cruise today though. Or get on a plane. The older I get the more likely I am to keep my feet on the ground. lol

I used a swirl embossing folder from Hot of the Press and colored some of the swirls with Waterfall stickles.
I colored the image with my copic markers and die cut the waves from hydrographic paper using a Sizzix die. The sentiment is from the Inner Tube Bird Brain Set, that I die cut using the Lively Framelits fromSizzix.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Paper Shelter Funny Sunflower

Hello!  My card today features a cute digital stamp from The Paper Shelter. Funny Sunflower. When you look at this image you think of spring!

I love digital creations. I have so many files containing all sorts of images from backgrounds to stamps to elements. The program I use to put them all together is My Craft Studio. Its not available in the US or at least I dont know where to find it here. There are so many CD's with many different themes. Each cd comes with 2 programs to design your cards, scrapbook pages or whatever you like.  I could go on and on about this program but if you want to check it out there are instructions on You Tube to help you out.

I used the pre-colored image and used digital papers for the backgrounds. The butterfly was made with a five petal flower. One of the petals were turned under the flower to form the butterfly. The antenna are pearl flower stamens. I added tiny pearls to the wings and a larger pearl in the center. I added ladybug ribbon at the bottom with a rhinestone ribbon slide. I also added lace to the side of the image.  I outlined the veins in the flowers and leaves with clear stickles.

Paper Shelter and SAS4KIDS

Good Morning!  Today is International Jazz Day. I enjoy listening to jazz at times, not for long periods of time but a few songs are ok.   Jazz originated in New Orleans  LA. When I think of jazz that is where my mind wanders to.  I have never been there, but from what I have seen on TV its a jumpin place!

I can imagine the character in my card today heading to New Orleans as he is a wild and crazy guy! lol  Cockatoo Rules is the image I used from The Paper Shelter. I used to pre-colored  image and used clear stickles on just the tip of his feathers. The backgound paper is from a web search for maps. The exhaust is an element from one of my digital sets. All of the papers are digital from my computer. I added black half pearls to the side of the card. The sentiment I created using My Craft Studio software.

From The Heart Monthly Challenge and weekly sketch 151

Good morning or evening which ever the case may be.  Today is National Chocolate Chip Day! Yum. I could celebrate this day EVERY day.  Chocolate is just one of my weaknesses. I am a sweet freak. (self proclaimed)  I find that as I have gotten older my taste for certain foods has changed, but sweets is not one of them. I have some chocolate chip cookies in the kitchen right now and plan on grabbing one or two, ok, or three when I get done posting.  After all , I don't want it to be said that I didn't celebrate a National celebration day.

Today I have 2 cards to enter into the From The Heart Challenges. The first is for the weekly sketch #151. The stamp set I chose was Time to Bloom. This is a beautiful stamp set and can be used in so many different ways.  The materials I used to create this card are: Time to Bloom Stamp set, White card stock from Recollections, yellow card stock from Stampin Up! yellow and orange ric rac.I  used scrap paper for the bottom of the card and the top I embossed with Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots folder.   I used pink glitter paper from DCWF to die cut the sentiment which is from Crafters Companion, Diamond Press collection. I used light orange chalk to highlight around the butterfly image.  I colored the image with my gel pens.

My second card is for the Stamp of the month challenge.   Hamlet PigWit in the Planter.  Such an adorable stamp set. He is as happy as can be among this flowers!  I die cut the card base from one of the Spellbinders label nestabilities.  I colored the image with gel pens, some glitter and some not.  I added pink and purple sequins randomly to the card and added the green bow at the top.

I hope everyone has a great week!  Don't forget to eat your chocolate chips today to celebrate the day.

Butterfly Challenge #54

Good Morning !  Today is National Apple Pie Day.  Go out and get yourself a great apple pie, some vanilla ice cream and ENJOY!!.

I would like to enter the following card into the Butterfly Challenge #54. This weeks color  is the letter R.  The color is Red and the theme is Recycle.  For my card I used white card stock from Recollections. I die cut the border with Die'Sire Edgeables Butterfly Dreams from Crafters Companion and used red chalk to stencil onto the butterflies.  The flowers are die cut from a soda can.(recycle).Pearls were placed in the center of each flower.  The pink butterfly was created by using a 5 pedal mulberry flower in which one petal was folded to the back to form the butterfly. I applied Frosted Lace stickles to the wings and attached 4 small pearls to each wing. The antenna are made using a pearl stamen for flowers. I added a pearl flower to the center of the butterfly. The leaves are die cut from scrap paper. I placed a pink insert inside the card so it would show through the butterfly die border. I also added randomly place pink sequins to the front of the card. The sentiment was die cut from red glitter paper from Die Cuts With A View.
I hope everyone has a great day and a great weekend. Don't forget tomorrow is Dance Like a Chicken Day. lol . Its been years since I danced to the beat of the Chicken Dance song.!  I think this dance is mostly done at wedding receptions. It always brought a smile to those who watched and great laughter from those who actually had the nerve to get out on the dance floor and to this dance! As I write this I am hearing the music in my head and remembering the fun I had "shaking my tail feather"  lol.

POPSICLE ANTS

I think spring has finally sprung! Its been so cold here since the first day of spring and the last days of winter it was like spring. My japonica bush is so confused. lol.  It bloomed then we had a freeze and the blooms died. Then it got warm again and it bloomed again.  I would not blame it if it just said the heck with it !

I have been making some kids cards and some adult ones also. The one I want to share today I am sending to SAS4KIDS but I think it would be a fun card for an adult also. I used the cute stamp set, Popsicle Ants from Doodle Pantry. I dont color as much as I use to, I hate going out of the lines, but it is relaxing, so much so I fall asleep sometimes. lol  I love Laurie's colors, they are so bright and cheerful. For this card I used the lime popsicle, one of my favorite colors. The background paper is also from this stamp set. I used purple holographic paper behind the image and red orange trim on the side.  I also used half pearls in orange. The sentiment is also from the Popsicle ants stamp set.

For Boys

I thought I would make some cards for boys to send to SAS4KIDS. Its easy to make cards for girls. They like the frilly things and butterflies and flowers.  Boys like the sports things cars and monsters. When I saw that the challenge at SAS4KIDS was For The Boys, I thought "perfect timing" something I seldom have lol.

I have 3 cards I would like to enter in this challenge.  The first 2 are from digi sets from Doodle Panty. I love her artwork and colors !  I don't color as much as I use to, I think my eyes play tricks on me when I have to do the detailed coloring and I hate coloring over the line.  I used 6 different sets for my first card.  What a Hoot, (fence and owl), Teeny Butterflies(butterfly), Hot Air Balloon Birdie, Kid Toys (monster truck) and Spring Trimmings(flowers and dragon fly). The sentiment is from the What a Hoot set . I used a cloud template for the clouds and colored them with blue stickles. The background paper is also from the What a Hoot set.

My second card was made using the Cotton Candy Ants from Doodle Pantry.  I used one of the colored images for the cotton candy. The background paper is also from this set.  The ants on the bottom are from another set I had purchased.. I added digital dark purple ribbon in the middle and made some highlights on the cotton candy with blue stickles.  The sentiment is also from the Cotton Candy Ants.

I used  one of the digital stamps from the magazine Crafter's Inspiration.   You get so much for the price with this magazine!  Not only do you get the magazine with loads of inspiration, but you also get a cutting die, clear stamps, an embossing folder and a stencil. Plus you get 1 dvd with lessons on different techniques and a cd with stamps and background papers and more.!  The image is from the Scruffy Little Kitten collection. I used one of the background papers from the cd as well.  I colored the sword, star and the star on the bow with gold stickles. I added a digital bow and a star in the middle and colored the ground with a brown copics marker.  I added digital ric rack to the top and bottom of the card.

None of these cards have any loose embellishments on them and I plan on sending them to Janet Bailey at SAS 4 KIDS for her hospital that request no embellishments.

Have a great weekend everyone! Thanks for looking at my blog :)

spring color

Its been a while since I have posted anything to my blog.  I have been busy making spring and Easter cards to send to SAS4KIDS. I also made some birthday cards and general cards.  For the card below I used the Doddle Pantry Easter Egg Ants.  I used the colored image from the set and mounted it on water color background paper. The colors picked up the color in the egg and seemed perfect for this image.  The sentiment if also from the Easter Egg Ants set. I would like to enter this card into the SAS4KIDS Spring colors for Kids challenge.
I also made other cards using the Doddle Pantry Digital  Doodles.  I love this site! I have many sets from here and I know I will be purchasing more. lol.  I like to mix and match the sets. I use My Craft Studio to design  a lot of my cards. This is such a great program! You can resize, change colors and  much more with this program. I have only seen it on sites from the UK.  Shipping is fast though, faster then some of the sites I purchase from in the US.   It's easy to use and there are videos on You Tube that show you how to use it. ( I didn't know this until I taught myself how to use it by trial and error.) lol  But I did learn some new things watching the videos. There are several CD's you can purchase that include, images, toppers, boxes, stationary and more.  The CD's come with 2 editing programs, but I only use the Standard one.  The Elite is something like Photo Shop I believe and I only have a limited version of that and I dont understand most of  THAT. lol

This card was made using the Doodle Pantry  Birthday Accessories Color Plus. I changed the color on some of the balloons and used the scroll from the Easter Egg Ants for the string on 2 of the balloons and the curvy words from the free Teeny Butterfly set.  I die cut the clouds and added stickles to them. The background is cloud background paper I have on my computer.

sketch #135

This weekend we had more then our share of snow. 20 plus inches! That's enough snow to last me the winter, but I know we have more to come.

I am currently making spring and Easter cards to send to SAS4Kids. Its a good way to forget about the weather outside now and to look forward to warmer days to come.

My entry for From The Heart Stamps challenge #135  this week is the very cute Birdbath Chick. I colored the image with my new gel pens. The paisley  paper is from a web find.  I also used cardstock from Michael's in bright neon colors that I embossed with a Darice embossing folder.

I hope everyone has a great week! Thanks for looking at my blog :)

Wednesday, January 13, 2016

I find I use my digital stamps a lot more now.  They are so easy to put a card together with them. And resizing an image is easy with the program I have. Sometimes I can change the color as well.  I bought some really cute digi stamps and stamp sets from Doddle Pantry recently and have more on my wish list there.

This is one of the cards I made using Doodle Pantry Heart Candy Ants.  I colored the image with Sharpie extra fine tip markers.  The background paper is from Stampin Up , as well as the purple grosgrain ribbon.  I die cut the heart on the bottom out of glitter paper from DCWV.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

From the heart sketch #133 and stamp of the month for January

I would like to enter these cards in From The Heart Challenges.

The first is the sketch of the week, #133.  I used the Mouse  Balloon. I used stickles to color the balloon and copics to color the mouse.  The Happy Valentines Day banner I found on the web and cut the other from striped hearts paper. I also added sequins to the design.  The background paper is  a web find. I mounted it onto hot pink card stock.

My second card is for the Monthly Challenge.(January) Cozy Kittens.  I made this card a clean and simple card by mounting the image, which I colored with my copics and sharpie pens,  onto plaid paper and added half foil covered pearls. The sentiment is also from the Cozy Kittens set.  I hope you like my cards .

Have a great week and thanks for looking at my blog. :)
