sketch #128

This is my entry for From The Heart Sketches #128.  I used the Snowman Drummer digi stamp and the paper is from Hot off the Press, Christmas Sweets Christmas pack. I colored the image with Sharpie Extra Fine point markers and used foil and clear half pearls on the sides.  I used syrofoam  "dust" for the snow on his hat, sign and ground.  I hope everyone has a great week.

Thanks for looking at my card.

From The Heart Sketch Challenge #127

My entry for this weeks sketch challenge at From The Heart Digital Stamps is from the cute little stamp set ..In the Meadow Snowmen.  I made the card by die cutting the largest scalloped circle on the fold of white card stock. I folded the bottom to the top of the card and then die cut another scalloped circle to glue to the front of the card and embossed it using the swiss dot embossing folder.  I think this is my favorite embossing folder. It can be used with most designs.  I then printed the image and die cut it using  the next size down from the plain circle die.  I colored the image with copic markers and added diamond stickles to the trees.  I fussy cut the trees only and colored them to match the trees on the card to use as the brace for the stand up card.

I hope you have a great day!! Thanks for looking at my blog. I truly appreciate all the comments you leave. They mean a lot to me!

From The Heart Birdbrain

Today I have two cards that I am submitting to From The Heart Stamps. Both are for the challenges she has for this month.  The first is Deck the Halls Birdbrain, which is the Stamp of the Month Stamp Set for November.  The background paper is snowflakes and hills that I picked up on the web.  I colored the bird yellow with my copic marker. The ornaments are also colored with copic markers.  I outlined the snow with blue stickles.  The sentiment is from In the Meadow, also from From the Heart Stamps.

The second card I am submitting is for this week sketch challenge #126.  For the focal point of the card I used Snowman Hugs stamp set from From The Heart Stamps.  I colored the snowman and snowlady with Sharpie markers.  The background paper is from a web find.  I used acrylic glitter snowflakes at the bottom as well as the icicles I cut from glitter paper using the Spellbinders icicle die.

Hope you have a great day !  Thanks for looking at my blog.

POLAR PEACE

This month's challenge at Deedee' Digis are some cute polar animals. The digi is called Polar Palace.  I made two cards to enter in the challenge.  I used the polar bear and seal in both.  I like to do monochromatic cards and these are an example.  The first card I used the polar bear and seal with the stars.  I used stained glass paper for the background and fussy cute the star, which I double mounted and offset.   I added gold ribbon at the bottom.

The second card I used the polar bear and seal on ice.  The background paper uses the same colors as in the bears scarf.  I added blue glitter snowflakes with a purple foil pearl in the center of each and tiny pearls that I colored blue with my copic marker to the snowflakes on the paper.  I put a blue and purple verigated  bow on the top.

Thanks for looking at my blog.  Have a great day!

Dashing through the snow

Its Monday and today it is cold and rainy here in Virginia. Perfect day to stay in and work on my Christmas cards.  Usually I like to bake on rainy, cold days but I just made a graham cracker crumb cake for my sons birthday on Saturday so we don't need more sweets, although I love them, maybe a little too much!

I have 2 cards I would like to submit to SAS4KIDS Happy Holidays for Kids Challenge. Both images are from Deedee's Digis. The first card  are the cute little penguins she has in her Christmas collections.  I love penguins and these are really cute. I have several digis with her penguins, it was hard to chose from them, but I choose Dashing Through the Snow for my first card. They look like they are having a good time sliding in the snow.  I used red and white polka dots for the background and printed the image on snowflake paper.  I colored the penguin's santa hat with Christmas red stickles and added the acrylic snowflakes topped with red half foil pearls.

The second card is Polar Peace. It is also from Deedee's Digis. It is her stamp of the month challenge.  I backed the image with black polka dots.  I love polka dot paper as you can see.  The background snowflake paper I found on the web.  I added tiny blue pearls that I colored with my copics marker. (They were white) and also added the glitter snowflakes with a pearl foil center.  I tied a bow at the
top using purple and blue variegated organza ribbon.

Have a great day and thanks for looking at my blog.

Emma the hugger

Its time to start seriously thinking about Christmas. Time has a way of getting away from me.  It seems more so, the older I get . lol   This is one of the cards I have made to send to SAS4KIDS .  The image is from Fred She Said Designs.  I love her art work. The colors are very crisp and bright.  For this card I used the Emma the Hugger  decoupage sheet.  I have to be in the mood to fussy cut and today I was.  Emma is so cute and always cheerful. And the snowman seems to really like the hug he is getting from her.  The background paper is also from Fred She Said Designs.  It goes with another digi set but I really like this paper and use it often on my winter cards.  I have had the snowflakes for a few years.  I had forgotten about them until I found them while trying to re-organize my craft drawers, for me that is a never ending chore ! I added the red foil pearls to the center of the snowflakes,   Hopefully I will be able to get all my cards done early this year. Hopefully being the key word here.
